CAIPER Participates in NCIPE Accelerating Grant Kickoff

 

This past October, I traveled to Minneapolis with CAIPER team member Dr. Karen Saewert to join the Interprofessional by Design™: Meeting at the Crossroads to Accelerate Leadership Competency and Readiness for Transition to Interprofessional Practice, six-member grant team for a kickoff institute with the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (NCIPE).

Arizona Interprofessional Practice and Education Conference: Teamwork and Collaboration for a Healthier Arizona

In April 2018, Arizona is launching its first ever conference dedicated to interprofessional healthcare practice and education. Hosted by the Arizona Nexus, the two-day conference on April 20-21, brings together practitioners, administrators, educators, researchers and students with the shared goal of creating a healthier Arizona through collaboration and teamwork.

I recently was asked to speak at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing on preparing the nursing workforce for community-based care. Most of my career has been spent in community. In fact, my first job out of college was as a visiting nurse in New York City. I believe in community-based care – so preparing the presentation wasn’t difficult for me.
