CAIPER is wrapping up one of the busiest seasons ever, not only for specific projects, but for the center in general.</p> <p>As we continue to re-imagine team-ness through collaborations, we’re blazing new pathways interprofessional research and education and truly excited to share these initiatives with you soon. </p> <p>Here's a quick snapshot of what we’ve been up to so far in 2024 and what’s coming next.</p> <div class="uds-highlighted-heading"> <h3><span class="highlight-gold">New Website, New Year</span></h3> </div> <p>CAIPER’s website received a complete design overhaul just in time for new training product launches and research releases leading into 2024. The project started in 2023 with the installation of new features including Our Trainings, Learning Solutions Consulting, From the Desk of CAIPER, and our interprofessional Resource Hub. </p> <div class="uds-highlighted-heading"> <h3><span class="highlight-gold">New IPE eLearning Course</span></h3> </div> <p>We launched our newest course, <a href="https://ipe.asu.edu/trainings/interprofessional-practice-in-primary-care">Interprofessional Practice in Primary Care</a>, to equip healthcare professionals and students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel as integral members of collaborative teams in primary care settings. The course is an accredited 4-hour eLearning course that strongly emphasizes team-based decision-making and essential skills crucial in both current and evolving primary care practice.  </p> <div class="uds-highlighted-heading"> <h3><span class="highlight-gold">CAIPER Interprofessional By Design™ Learning Solutions Consulting</span></h3> </div> <p>2024 begins the second year for our award-winning Center’s <a href="https://ipe.asu.edu/trainings/learning-solutions-consulting">Learning Solutions Consulting</a> - where we work directly with you and your team to organize, structure, and then integrate essential interprofessional education programs for student learning, faculty training and professional development.</p> <div class="uds-highlighted-heading"> <h3><span class="highlight-gold">2024 National Academies of Practice (NAP) Annual Meeting &amp; Forum</span></h3> </div> <p>A proud sponsor of the <a href="https://www.napractice.org/">2024 NAP Meeting &amp; Forum</a> for the second year in a row, team members traveled to Jacksonville, Florida, for this year’s event. In 2023, the CAIPER Team received the <a href="https://ipe.asu.edu/blog/news-events/caiper-receives-national-academies-practice-award-advancing-elearning-healthcare"><em>National Academies of Practice Creativity in Practice and Education Award</em></a> only months after accepting the Nexus Summit <em>George E. Thibault, MD Nexus Award</em> – the highest honor awarded by the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education. Hafferty</strong>, PhD, are the authors of one  of the only research articles presented entirely in the form of comics.  </p> <p><em>Humanism in the Premedical Realm: An Exercise in Graphic Medicine, </em>uses the students' voice and perspective to examine the opportunities for humanism on the premed path.<em> </em></p> <p>While graphic medicine, stemming from the adaptation of the graphic novel, has been used for the exploration of healthcare topics, at the time of its publication, <em>Humanism in the Premedical Realm: An Exercise in Graphic Medicine </em>is one of the first research articles in this form.</p> <p>Research articles can range from a few pages to multiple sections and can sometimes take hours to read. The use of the comics format not only cuts time for the reader – in this article the reading time is about 10 minutes – it also keeps the reader engaged through short text and illustrations. </p> <p>The article<em>, </em>published in <em>Annals of Internal Medicine</em>, was made possible by partnerships with the Arnold P. Events</p> </div> <div class="block"> <p><strong>October 15, 2021</strong></p> </div> <div class="block"> <p>Through his Fellowship, Dr. Barret Michalec will develop an experiential-learning program for undergraduate health profession students. The program will be primarily pre-med and nursing students, but open to other health pre-professionals as well.
